NAME CHANGES

There are several ways to get a name change. Probably the happiest is to get married. But you don't need my input on that. Another way for a person to get a name change is through the divorce process. Usually, it doesn't cost any more than the divorce itself cost, and the wife can have her former married, or, a maiden name restored. And, of course a very typical method is an action in Superior Court, called a PETITION FOR NAME CHANGE. In this action, a person may want a former name restored, or change their name to one that is simply more suitable to them. In changing a name of a person, the courts do not really care why a person wants their name changed, so long as it is for a legitimate reason, and, not to defraud creditors, or for some other fraudulent or deceitful purpose. If your name is not what you want it to be...your child has a different last name...your name is too difficult to pronounce...or maybe you just never liked the sound of your name...make an appointment today to discuss your dilemma ...call (770) 461-4882, or (770) 461-1984.
